Obwohl eigentlich: Free China.
CR: Can you explain the idea behind the site?
JB: To get artists, designers whoever to contribute some visual work. I don’t know if that sounds a bit limp. This sort of thing [is often met with] √¢‚Ǩ≈ìwhat’s the point of doing a bit of √¢‚ǨÀúdesign’?√¢‚Ǩ¬ù but this site is not just for designers to look at each other’s work but to be a resource for people who want to express their discontent with the issue. I don’t really want people to get hung up on the idea that this can change anything in isolation, it can’t. These works are just one tool of many which people will use to keep Tibet as a central issue in mainstream politics, as that is the only way things will change. Link
The Freedom Tunnel is the name given by urban explorers, graffiti artists, and a handful of homeless people to the Amtrak tunnel under Riverside Park in Manhattan, New York City. It is also the name of the legendary and constantly evolving graffiti pieces that cover the tunnel walls.
The Freedom Tunnel got its name because the graffiti artist Chris “Freedom” Pape used the tunnel walls to create some of his most notable artwork. Link.
